Modified engine produces a larger amount of exhaust gases than allowed.

When headers are installed or cat converters removed, the result is a catalyst efficiency engine management code alerting the Electronic Control Unit that cat is missing or not working properly. The upstream sensor controls the fuel management system and aftercat monitors converter function. Exhaust gas is controlled through 2 to up to 4 exhaust air fuel sensors. A popular alteration is to decat the exhaust or install an aftermarket header, to unlock the performance capability.

Dodge Grand Caravan oxygen sensor simulator will allow you to drive without catalyst converter and still keep the CEL off. EZ CEL Fix oxygen sensor eliminator gives the ECU with mimicked, fluctuating voltage signal and tricks the Engine computer into thinking the emission is normal.
